“I loved coming into work every day to be greeting by the smiling faces in my department. I worked closely with the OB/GYN director and performance improvement consultant, and while the project wasn’t finished by the end of my internship, the work I did will be helpful to improving clinic flow in the long-term!” – Gabby, 2024
“My biggest takeaway is that nobody’s life goes as planned. All of the wonderful people I met never expected to be in the role they are currently in. So, I would encourage future interns to try everything! Having an open mind can take you further than you think” – Ava, 2024
“My host department was great. I completed a number of tasks/projects, mostly pertaining to managing the radiation dosimetry program. The work culture was tight-knit and I felt like I belonged. Such support helped elevate my learning experiences in the realm of environmental standards and policies.” – Finn, 2024
"My biggest take away is that there are many different people that make up the Healthcare team. From x-ray techs, to nurses, to transporters, and doctors. I didn't realize how many people it takes to run a hospital and give the best patient care.” – Emilie, 2024
“Participating in this internship allowed me to earn the value of making connections. Every individual I had the opportunity to meet made it a point to mention how they benefited from networking, and encouraged me to reach out to them at any point in my future.” – Eliza, 2024
“My biggest takeaway from the internship has been how important teamwork and understanding is. Though it sounds cliché, teamwork is really the foundation of an efficient and happy hospital even if coworkers are not best friends. I have learned the value of working with people that are like me and who are not like me and to receive both criticism and gratitude in a variety of ways. All of these experiences have helped me grow as a worker, healthcare nerd, and as a person in general and I will cherish the advice I have received.” – Samantha, 2024
"Be open to whatever opportunities you are given, express your gratitude to the wonderful people who have taken you under their wings and been kind enough to show you their work and speak about their experiences. Also write down your experiences and how they made you feel in order to determine which jobs, environments and expertise draw you in and make you want to learn more about them.” – Meg, 2024
