Application Process:
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for the Surgical Technologist training program. We offer two sponsored pathways to enter the program, depending on the candidate’s college degree status. Acceptances are made throughout the year for both sponsored pathways allowing work opportunities before or direct entry into the 11-month training program, which begins in September of each year.

The application process includes:

Application package:
- Current resume or Curriculum Vitae
- Statement of Interest (minimum of 500 words)
- Two Letters of reference (at least one must be a professional, current or previous manager is strongly encouraged)
- Official College transcripts
- 3.
Participation in a structured interview process
- 4.
Pre-Requisites:
- Proof of post-secondary degree, OR
- Proof of active post-secondary education
- Proof of Age: applicants must be 18 years or older on or before start date of class year
- High school diploma: HiSET or GED (Graduate Equivalence)
- College-level Anatomy & Physiology with a passing grade of C or higher (taken within the last five years)
- College-level Medical Terminology with a passing grade of C or higher (taken within the last five years)
- Current/valid Basic Life Support certification
D-H Employees applying for sponsorship in Lebanon and individuals applying for sponsorship in Keene must also submit:
- A sponsorship application essay that demonstrates to the Department of Perioperative Services how you have earned sponsorship through your performance and contributions to Dartmouth-Hitchcock
- One of your professional references must be from your current D-H manager/supervisor
The Surgical Technology Program Selection Committee will make decisions to admit up-to 10 individuals per year. This is a competitive application process and completion of all admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance. If selected, it is the applicant’s responsibility to acknowledge acceptance to confirm the spot.

Individuals applying for sponsorship in Lebanon and Keene must also submit:
- A sponsorship application essay that demonstrates to the Department of Perioperative Services how you have earned sponsorship through your performance and contributions to Dartmouth-Hitchcock and/or what contribution you can bring to the role
- One of your professional references must be from your current manager/supervisor (if a D-H employee must be from current D-H manager/supervisor)
Sponsorship Opportunities:
Individuals interested in sponsorship which may include tuition support and/or a training wage while participating in the program are welcome to apply for sponsorship from the Department of Perioperative Services in Lebanon and our system partner Cheshire Medical Center – Keene. This may include tuition support and/or a training wage while participating in the program. Some additional steps are involved in the application process if you are applying for sponsorship.
